When someone you love has died, in the midst of your shock and grief there is a need to say a final goodbye to that person in the best way you can. Their funeral is the last opportunity for you to spend time together with them and create meaningful memories to cherish.
I can help you bear witness to the unique identity of the person who has died. You hold in your hands the pieces of what you envision for their funeral service yet may feel unsure of how to thread them together and this may be the saddest time you have ever experienced. I understand and will help by listening carefully to you, your family and friends as you talk. I will write about the person who has died weaving together their own stories, values, achievements and dreams into a ceremony of farewell just for them. A ceremony that honours their life and reflects their beliefs, whether that be in something divine beyond death or in nothing, their unique thoughts will be remembered.
There may be participation from many, or few words spoken and just being present may say everything. I will explain the possibilities to you, things you may not have realised you can do. We will co create the ceremony script and you will have final approval. I will liaise with your Funeral Directors and on the day I will be a safe pair of hands. I will lend support should you need it, or lead should you wish it, whilst holding a safe sacred space for you to say your final farewell.
I am available in North Cornwall/Devon.
Please note I prefer not to hold ceremonies in crematoriums. My focus is on green funerals in natural burial grounds. I support the Natural Death Society and am an experienced writer and speaker on death and consciousness via the international DeathCafe.com movement.
I have been professionally trained in this sensitive art by Green Fuse in Devon. They are multi-award winning Funeral Directors who are at the forefront of the modern funeral industry. I have also studied under Stephen Jenkinson the renowned ‘Griefwalker’ and am an experienced Death Cafe host.
